What is Mechatronics?

Mechatronics can be defined as the applied combination of Mechanical engineering, Electronic engineering, Computer engineering, Control engineering, and Systems Design engineering to create useful products and solutions.

In other words, Mechatronic Systems can be divided into the following areas of specialty:

1. Physical Systems Modeling
2. Sensors and Actuators
3. Signals and Systems
4. Computers and Logic Systems
5. Software and Data Acquisition

Common examples of such systems can be found everywhere. Inside our houses, or “embedded” in our cars.

Mechatronics is also a very common term used in Robotics or CNC machines.
